Tornashean is my family house and it is carefully looked after and prepared for your arrival, and it is the visitor’s responsibility to leave it clean and tidy at the end of their stay.
Any breakages or damage must be notified to the owner and must be replaced or paid for in full. The house and its contents and services are checked by the owner at the end of any letting and before any new letting.
All reservations will be acknowledged in writing.
If, for any reason, the accommodation becomes unavailable, all money paid by the hirer or the amount equal in proportion to the unexpired part of the hire period, will be returned to the hirer who will have no further claim against the owners.
Any bookings during the winter or during the skiing season will be subject to the vagaries of the weather. We will endeavour, as much as possible, to keep the drive to the house ploughed so that access to the house is kept clear of snow. However, occasionally there are very heavy falls of snow and the Aberdeenshire Council snow plough may take time to clear the local main roads. Roads, particularly the A93 through Glenshee and Braemar and the A939 between Crathie and Bridge of Gairn, and of course the A939 Cock Bridge to Tomintoul road, can be regularly blocked in winter, sometimes for more than a day at a time. It is advisable, if possible, in winter, to bring a four wheel drive vehicle or vehicle with snow tyres.
Cancellation must be confirmed in writing or by email. Please do so no less than twenty eight days prior to your due date of arrival. In this case, your deposit will be returned to you in full.
In the event of a cancellation giving less than twenty eight days notice, your deposit will not be returned.
Cancellation less than fourteen days prior to the date of arrival will incur costs representing 50% of the booking cost and cancellation less than seven days prior to the date of arrival will incur costs representing 75% of the booking cost.
Finally, the owner can not accept any responsibility for injury sustained by any visitor on the property, or for loss or damage to vehicles or effects brought on to the property by visitors.
